The Sarah Marie, a full rigged ship, registered in Drontheim, Captain Poulsen, was wrecked at Hillswick, Northmavine, on 11th August 1731, while en route from Drontheim to Dublin with a cargo of deals.
Local men found the Captain and cabin boy clinging to the wreckage.
A large amount of the cargo was salvaged.
