Shetland Archives

The Shetland Archives are based, along with the Shetland Museum, at Hay's Dock, Lerwick. The Archivist is Brian Smith. They contain written records from the fifteenth century up to the present: local authority and government records; papers generated by individuals, estates and societies; oral history material; microfilm of local and other newspapers, old parochial registers and census records.
