The hotel is a part of the private owned "Brudolff Hotels Group".
The Oasis Restaurant and the Beltramis Cafe/Bar are located in the Shetland Hotel.
In 2006, the owner of the Shetland Hotel announced that he would withdraw the hotel from the Up Helly-Aa Halls rotation.
