The Shetland Marinas Piers and Boating Clubs Association, (SMPBCA) has been formed to represent all the marinas, piers, and boating clubs in Shetland, with the aim of promoting Shetland as an attraction for visiting yachts and motor boats.
The SMPBCA, has successfully attended the Boat Show at Earls Court, in conjunction with Visit Shetland, and Visit Orkney.
The SMPBCA has also been successful in securing funding to bring all the marinas and piers up to a minimum standard for visitor berths.
