The St Andrew, a sloop, laden with a mixed cargo. The exact nature of this cargo is disputed in the available records, with one stating it was butter, oil and wool, and another stating it was iron, oil and deals. The former record may probably deserve the greatest credibility, as it goes on to detail that the oil amounted to 110 barrels, all of which was lost. Owner Thomas Gifford of Busta, Captain Mason (Manson??), registered in Northmavine, and in passage from Hillswick to Leith, Edinburgh, Scotland, this vessel wrecked in the Bay of Quendale, Dunrossness on September 29th 1731. One boy was lost.
