The Star Of The North, a wooden smack, 18 tons, 13 metres length, (formerly the fishing vessel LK235), registered in Lerwick, Captain John Goudie, while in service as a packet boat/passenger vessel plying between Fair Isle and the Shetland Mainland struck the Flooer Stack, South Haven, Fair Isle and sank within a few minutes, on October 21st 1906.
