Sullom Voe, (HU380740), (Old Norse: Solheimavagr = Sunny Home Bay), at the west side of Yell Sound, between Delting and Northmavine, in the North Shetland Mainland, is most famous for the Sullom Voe Oil Terminal.
During WWII the voe was used as a base for flying boats. The nearby Scatsta Airport was developed as an aerodrome during WWII.
The Sylph wrecked at Ell Wick, the southern extremity of the voe, and just south of Mavis Grind, on October 20th 1864, and the Sundown sank in the voe on August 30th 1939.
