Symbister is the main settlement and harbour on the island of Whalsay, Shetland.
Symbister has a busy harbour that is home to the largest part of the Shetland Pelagic Trawler fleet.
The main attraction in the harbour area is the restored Pierhouse, also known as the Hanseatic Booth.
Symbister House, built by the Bruce family in 1823, now the Whalsay School, is another attraction in Symbister.
Whalsay Leisure Centre and the nearby Harbison Park, the home field for Whalsay Football Club, is also located in the Symbister area.
