Talk:Commercial Street
Shetlopedia - The Shetland Encyclopaedia that anyone can edit
Little mystery which needs solving,, I always thought that Commercial Street ended at the north end of the fort car park, but I have just noticed that the Fort Chippie, and the Thulecraft shop have Commercial Road addresses.
Anybody know any more ????

- Wolfgang,I see what you mean to do,,but the thing with those two pictures was to put them close under eachother, to show a place from same angle with many years between them...the best would of course be to put them side by side, but with different sizes that would have looked bad...I'll find other pics to put into this page later to make it look better, but I'm still adding things to it...;-) , Cheers Oddrun 01:27, 9 April 2007 (MDT)
Watched you fighting with the spacings on this page. ;-) It's a "classical" chance to use that clear:both command an check source text there ... see Sandbox.
A second thing: We have a "standard width" of 250px for landscape/square format. Shouldn't we reduce the portrait format pics to a height of that amount? Would reduce a lot of spacing probs on other pages as well. Islandhopper 11:46, 6 May 2007 (MDT)
The only reason we were fighting with the spacing is because we are viewing it using 2 different browsers on two different screen sizes, and trying to get it to look as good as possible on all combinations. It may look rough, but with a bit of luck it will look OK to most viewers.
I'll play around with the clear:both commands when I have time.
Pic size as standard width just doesn't work with the portrait pics, but I think reducing them to 250px height might be too drastic. I think we should keep 250px as the norm for one or two pics on a page, but play around more with pic sizes when there are a lot of pics to get them to fit better. We have found that 240px fits all browser combinations we can throw up for 3 pics side by side.
Brain Cell dead for now.
