Just wondering if Elizabeth Balneaves and J. Laughton Johnston should be linked? When she, and for a time he, stayed in Bigton folk were under the impression they were mother and son.

Can anyone confirm the accuracy of that, or if it was just ill-informed public gossip?

Yup dead right, didn't know EB well but Dad has a painting or 2 of hers, and I did work for Laughton 6 months ago and had a long chat about times past. He lives in the most picturesque house now, at Muckle Busta. Must try to find time for pics of that area.
