Just wondering about the 1876 date?

Goudie's were only established sometime in the 1970's, they obtained the funeral director business of Duncan & Bolt's, who may date back to 1876. But, I was under the impression it was effectively new owners trading under a new business name simply obtaining assets of a former business in the same line of work, rather than a continuation of one individual business.

1976 is very possibly when Goudie's started, I canna mind wi any real accuracy though. Duncan & Bolt were still trading during the first half of '76 I'm pretty sure, and Goudie's were well established by mid '81, but that's as near as I can date it from memory.
