Talk:Ness of Sound
Shetlopedia - The Shetland Encyclopaedia
This is really just a test to see what you think.
We have lots of links to headlands, hills, etc. Perhaps something like this will work.

- Looks fine to me, the majority of hills/headlands etc will have little to be said about them apart from a written description of their location, and hopefully a picture, as there's nothing much on many of them of note.

Exactly right. I plan to start with just the ones which are already red links on other pages. Reason being that if there is a mention on an existing page, that gives a link backwards. Particularly towards wrecks, in the case of Nesses, Lighthouses, and Brochs.
Something which did catch my attention when thinking about the Ness of Sound, and indeed The Knab, was the coastal defences set up during the wars. This also leads into Scousburgh Hill, Noss Hill, etc..
This topic, which I still have to figure out how to categorise, is likely to be a bit like the inshore waters, in as much as it will be most important as a locational link for other pages.
Methinks I may have opened a Pandora's Box here :-))))
