What about building some categories into the Shetland Website pages, to tidy it up?
So, the Shetland Websites page would have links to the categories. Click on the category and it will open up a new page for that category.
Suggested Categories: Shetland Businesses, Personal Websites, Shetland Bands, Shetland Tourism, etc.
Any comments and suggested new categories?
I want to delete the Shetland Websites page. Haveing a page full of external links makes us appear (to the search engines) as a possible link farm, and that can damage the position within the search engines.
As an alternative I'm suggesting the use of categories instead.
Each website would have its own Shetlopedia.com page (we'd need to get information for each page though). Each of these pages would be included in the category Shetland Websites. In addition they could appear in further categories like the Shetland Businesses, music, tourism categories that are already setup.
Then on the main page we would include links to categories only, and not to index pages like the Shetland Websites page is just now. We would have a link the the Category called Shetland Websites.
This would mean that local businesses with a website would have to belong to the category Shetland Websites as well, but that's ok.
