He - he ,nice flag on that page, ;-), To be serious....not a bad idea....essetial information, how, where and whom should be there, it is very important for non Shetanders to know where it is, and for sailors whom to contact and so on...

Heimdal, that's the page from where I followed the link given at the bottom *ggg*; VisitShetland has some more "technical" details whereas the text is more or less the same ... just copy and paste. Agree, but also a link to each marina, from the marina page, (Heimdal's)..there was some very useful info there.., ;-) me and you share the same Consul , Islandhopper !..I'm talk active today, but you will get rid of me for two weeeks now ;-), leaving for Britain and 5 Willie Nelson Conserts tonite !!

Info on Marina pages is a great idea.

Some of the info on the visit shetland website may be out of date. I represent the Virkie marina on the SMPBCA so I have a copy of the up to date contact info. That may help.

One little thing I did notice about marinas, Gremista Marina is oficially called Lerwick Marina, although it is at Gremista, don't know if it matters or not. :-)

LPA call it Gremista Marina, and it is known as that to the marine insurance companies too, but I suppose 'Lerwick' would be more widely understood. Heimdal 21:51, 16 January 2007 (GMT)

I just mentioned it because the Marinas Guide, and the SMPBCA, refer to it as the Lerwick Marina. We have the same problem at the Ness, the Ness Boating Club Marina has accidentally become known as the Virkie Marina, because of the insurance companies, but they don't say no to a cheque bearing the Ness Boating Club name  :-) I think Gremista is best left as it is, we could always create a redirect page for Lerwick to the Gremista page.Robbie 22:12, 16 January 2007 (GMT)

I don't think the references to insurance is needed, it's only of concern to a boatowner calling a company to be told they do not have 'Lerwick Marina' in their database, but they do have 'Gremista' and is that near Lerwick ? Most of these companies are based in the South of England and their geographical knowledge is limited. About 30 years ago I asked for cover to sail to Norway and was told that I was not to sail further North than Stavanger ! That took a few calls to sort out !Heimdal 23:33, 16 January 2007 (GMT)
