I am trying to trace some background information on my ancestors who came from Mid and South Yell:

Robert Guthrie and Elizabeth Rendal were born before 1800 and were married in Mid and South Yell around 1820. Prior to 1833 they had seven children: Grace M., William, Robina, Christina, Daniel, Jane and Henry.

Henry Guthrie was born on 10 April 1832 in M&SY and married Robina Tulloch on 8 Dec 1853. They had five children: CHARLOTTE born 14 OCT 1854; Robina Elizabeth 30 Jul 1856; WILLIAM ROBERT 30 AUG 1858; JANET CATHARINE 22 JUN 1861 and Andrina Joan 29 Aug 1864.

The 1881 Census shows Henry, a Seaman, and Robina Guthrie living in Leith with two of their children, William a Marine Officer, and a daughter, Jessie age 20.

I am descended from Jessie who, according to the Census records, was also born in M&S Yell, but does not show up in the birth records for Henry & Robina Tulloch in Yell??

If anyone has any other information about this family, and Jessie Guthrie in particular, I would be grateful to hear from you.
