The Thames, a sail brig laden with a cargo of coal, 26 L x 6 B metres or 84 feet LOA x 20 feet 2 inches B x 18 foot 6 inches deep in hold, registered in London, England.
This vessel was captured by the Dunkirk, France privateer Fantasia or Fantasie off Flamborough Head, Yorkshire, England on November 16th 1799 who put a prize crew aboard her. She was then driven northwards in a sinking condition until she was purposely beached at an unrecorded loaction in Uyea Sound, Unst on December 8th 1799. The prize crew were captured and taken to Fort Charlotte, Lerwick.
It is not clear whether this vessel was subsequently salvaged or became a wreck.
