The Shetland Fudge Company, located at the Esplanade side of 96 Commercial Street, beside the Peerie Shop Cafe Lerwick, is a small family business, hand - making fudge and truffles.
The Shetland Fudge Company is run by Tom Ramsay and his wife Gillian Fox. Their products were finalists in the Scottish Thistle Award in 2005 and 2006, and they were winners of the Hospitality Assured Award in 2006.
All of their products are also sold worldwide from their website.
In November 2009 The Shetland Fudge Company won a legal battle with supermarket chain Asda, who had tried to block the registration of "Puffin Poo", the name of one of the companies more popular chocolate treats. Asda had argued that they held rights to the name as they sell a range of chocolate bars under the name "Puffin".
In 2010 the business was moved from their earlier premises at 135 - 137 Commercial Street to the new location.
