The Theodore William (formerly Oratios Couppas), a steamship laden with a cargo of iron ore, 3055 or 3057 GRT, 105.2 L x 14.3 B metres, built 1908 Craig, Taylor & Co. Ltd., Stockton-On-Tees, England, as the Oratios Couppas for Nicolas Couppa, Argostoli, Greece, sold 1916 to Fred. Th. Bergh, Porsgrunn, Norway, and renamed Theodore William, sold in 1917 to final owner A/S Theodore William (J. Ringen A/S), Haugesund, Norway, registered in Norway.

This vessel in passage from Narvik, Norway, to Middlesbrough, England, was stopped and scuttled by the German submarine U 21, Captain Otto Hersing, at 60.45N, 00.13E, approx 40 miles E of Nor Wick, Unst, on April 22nd 1917. All of the crew are believed to have been saved.
