Thomas Balfour, Tory Party, was elected as MP for the constituency of Orkney & Shetland on 9th February 1835, replacing George Trail. He served until 1837 when he was replaced by Frederick Dundas.
Thomas Balfour was born on 2nd April 1810, and died in 1838.
In 1978 the Kirkwall Grammar School published a 24 page booklet entitled "Thomas Balfour M.P. for Orkney and Shetland, 1835-1837".
