Tib Doig

The Tib Doig (alternatively Tid Doig), a smack, Captain De Grieves, registered in Ostend, Belgium. This vessel was operating as a smuggler, and had been under suspicion of the Excise authorities for some time. While carrying a cargo of tobacco and gin, she drove from anchor while sheltering from a gale in Ham Voe, Foula on July 26th 1886. All of the crew were saved, but the vessel went to pieces overnight.
