Tingwall War Memorial is located in the kirkyard beside Tingwall Kirk.
The main memorial is a World War I Memorial. It is a very high square stone column erected on a wider base. The top is a kind of roof shaped, below is a coat-of-arms with an upright lion, the top inscription reads : "TO TINGWALL SONS WHO DIED IN THE WAR"
"Their names liveth for evermore"

Below that, all fallen men from the different communities in the Parish of Tingwall is listed, and the inscriptions : "They laid down their lives for their Friends", and "Greater love hath no man than this"

The base is decorated with a sword and a flag, and has the inscription :
1914 - 1919 LEST WE FORGET.
At the foot of the base a stone plaque for the fallen in World War II is added.
Among them is one woman; Helenor Frances Horne, from Scalloway, Nursing Sister, Queen Alexandria Imperial Military Nursing Service, who died in Normandie in June 1944
