Toab

Toab, which is part of Virkie is the most southerly village on Shetland, and overlooks Sumburgh Airport. The name derives from Old Norse tollhóp - toll-lagoon - and suggests that ships paid tolls at the nearby Pool of Virkie. The old spelling Tolob has gradually turned into Toab.
