Uyea Sound

Uyea Sound, (HP595005), is bay at the south end of the island of Unst, in Shetland, and sheltered by the uninhabited island of Uyea.
On the shores of the sound is the village of Uyeasound.
The Elizabeth wrecked in the sound on March 9th 1787, the Mary and Elizabeth stranded on January 6th 1800, and the Norna drove ashore and filled with water on February 8th 1830, the Brothers went ashore on November 7th 1850, another Elizabeth was wrecked at the Old Brough in November 1867, and the Matilda drove ashore in November 1876.
