The Queen Amelie (aternatively Queen Amelia), a steel hulled steamship laden with a cargo of flax, 4278 GRT, 113 L x 15 B metres, built 1905 Northumberland S. B. Co Ltd. Newcastle, England, owner Dunlop S. S. Co. Ltd. (T. Dunlop & Sons), Glasgow, Scotland, registered in Glasgow, Scotland.

This vessel in passage from Archangel, Russia, for Dundee, Scotland, was initially attacked and disabled by the German submarine U95, and later was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine UB 62, Captain Bernhard Putzier, at a position approx 19 miles NNE of Muckle Flugga, Unst on September 17th 1917. All of the crew are believed to have survived.

The Australia was sunk in the same area by the same submarine on the same day.
