If a page is found to have been incorrectly named, there is no need to create a new page with the correct name.
Clicking the Move tab at the top of the page brings up the option to move the page to the correct name.
This will also automatically create a redirect from the incorrectly named page, to the new one.
If the page being renamed is one which has been viewed many times, then it may be best to leave the redirect on the old page name, but this isn't really necessary as search engine results will list the page anyway.
