Robert 'Bob' Adair O.B.E. (b. 1922, Darlington, d. 22 March 2002, Lerwick) was a Senior Lecturer and Lerwick Town Councillor.

When he was 14 he became an apprentice engineer in Darlington with Whessoe Founder and Engineering Company. In 1939 he joined the Territorial Army and when was broke out was stationed in Shetland. In 1966 he became a lecturer in eingeering at the Further Education center in Lerwick, retiring in 1987 after having also worked in Glasgow. In 1954 he became a member of the Zetland Executive Council. He was the first chairman of the health board, serving from 1973 to 1985, receiving an O.B.E. in 1984 for his work.
