Scarcely Ever Out of My Thoughts: The Letters of Valda Trevlyn Grieve to Christopher Murray Grieve (Hugh MacDiarmid) is a book, edited by Beth Junor, containing letters from her to Hugh MacDiarmid and one or two other people. It contains a foreword by Deirdre Grieve, their daughter. It was published in 2008, and has had both hard and softback editions.

Many of these letters are sent either from, or to, Whalsay. It is the first time that many of them have been published, and the book reveals much about their relationship.
