The Signe (formerly the Ernst Brockelmann and the A. P. Johansson) a wooden hulled barque, 34.84 L x 7.67 B x 4.92 D metres, 358 gross tons, built 1853 A. Schonemann, Rostock, Germany. Owner E. Andersson, Vaddo, Sweden, and registered in Vaddo, Sweden. While in passage from Ayr, Scotland to Vaddo, Sweden, in ballast, was abandoned and left to sink during heavy weather, at a position approx 30 miles SE of Fair Isle on September 29th 1896.
