This is one area which I would categorise as an absolute "Leave Bloddy Well Alone".
+
It took us ages to find a way to categorise this, we eventually got it to work, so please don't bugger about with it.
If you had any idea of the hundreds of hours of research that Ghostrider has invested in this subject, you might just understand.
I don't mind that you are creating absolute bugger ups in other categories, but this one is an absolute "NO NO".

And, while I'm at it. You're absolutely managing to piss off Oddrun with your inaccurate edits about Norway.
I'm even Norskie enough now to see how far wrong some of your edits are... But, I guess you're just using Wikipedia for your information, and that explains everything.

Please stick to subjects which none of the other editors know about, then perhaps you can get away with it. But if you piss off too many people you will be blocked.
Robbie 15:15, 23 January 2012 (MST)

:Excuse me? Wikis are supposed to be collaborative efforts.

:If my edits are wrong CORRECT them. Don't delete the whole thing. Some of your other editors make constant mistakes, e.g. there's at least one that doesn't know when to use "its" and when to use "it's". Why delete the whole article on Norway?

:"if you piss off too many people" - I'm sorry pal, but I've had to put up with constant rudeness from people here. I've never ever been made to feel welcome here. I don't know why this is, but it is wrong.

:I came onto this website because I was appalled at the huge oversights on here. Some of the articles are downright amateurish, but I am held up for "academic rigour". Other ones consist of four or five pictures and little or no text. Other articles either contain no links, or are not linked from anywhere else.

:Regarding the shipwreck categories, I've looked at how you've done it, and the style is kind of "unique" and counterintuitive. Can folk understand that I didn't do this to "piss them off"?! If you want the shipwreck cats back as they were, I have no problem with that, but can you avoid turning this into some escalating slanging match? --Pett 06:49, 24 January 2012 (MST)

Another subject which you really should leave well alone. Edit failures are obvious if you are only using information from Wikipedia.
I've managed to stop the wife deleting you for now, but she is really mad at some of your edits.
Robbie 15:36, 23 January 2012 (MST)

:You might note that Oddrun deleted your page on 'Vestlandet' because it was inaccurate.
Please, in future, only add information which can be verified. And by that I mean not using Wikipedia as a source, since that is not a trusted source of information.
Robbie 15:52, 23 January 2012 (MST)

Why didn't Oddrun correct it instead of deleting it?! By the way, I didn't just use Wikipedia as a source, thank you very much.--Pett 06:33, 24 January 2012 (MST)

:"Correcting" would in this case mean re-writing...and it is better with no page than a page that is totally wrong !
Another thing is that I can't see no reason of having a page called " Vestlandet" on Shetlopedia...
Oddrun 12:54, 27 January 2012 (MST)

::Isn't rewriting part and parcel of a wiki? Co-operation and working together? And no, it wasn't "totally wrong", I've just gone back and looked at several sources which more or less agree with what I said. In other words, it's either partially wrong, or completely correct. It wasn't exactly very long either.

::"'I can't see no reason [sic] of having a page called " Vestlandet"'" - Erm, apart from the fact that along with northern Scotland, it is the nearest major landmass to Shetland, and has numerous historical, ecclesiastical, linguistic and wartime etc connections. --Pett 09:17, 31 January 2012 (MST)
